A shotcrete Special Inspection is very similar to a Special Inspection for concrete. Reinforcement coverages and clearances need to be verified, shotcrete slump needs to be maintained, and samples need to be taken.
The difference though is the type of sample that is taken for shotcrete is a small panel that is shot, instead of the concrete cylinders. Also, a test panel may need to be constructed and shot prior to construction depending on the requirements for your particular project. Lastly, many jurisdictions are requiring that a Deputy Inspector be on site for either a "periodic" or "continous" inspection of reinforcement placement.
If you have any questions regarding a Special Inspection for Shotcrete or Gunite, or would like to schedule a Deputy Insector for an Epoxy, Concrete, Shearwall Nailing, Masonry inspection and more, please feel free to call anytime!
